I help cultural organizations beat broken business models.
A "lab" that's designed to give our artforms new audiences, new meaning, and new life.
Hi, I'm Jim.
For 15 years, I've worked across the cultural sector
at institutions large and small, from the US to the Middle East: consulting, growing audiences, and leading change.
But, since the pandemic, I've become convinced
we need better solutions to the BIG challenges we face... to help our business models be less precarious.
And so "the lab" was born...
THE LAB
Through research into what's working both inside the sector and outside - incorporating insights from sports, tech, and beyond - Sectorlab is designed to help uncover the "new best practices" you can use to grow revenue, relevance, and impact at your organization.

These insights are shared regularly with a community of like-minded individuals, and put to work in action-oriented consulting.

A weekly dose of ideas to help you think more creatively about what's possible. Delivered to your inbox, free.
I won't spam you. Unsubscribe when you want.
My clients say...
You're our secret weapon.
I've worked on projects with The Cleveland Orchestra, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Detroit Opera, American Symphony, Flamenco Vivo, the Bob Dylan Center, Tuesday Musical, Pilobolus, American Classical Orchestra, and many more.

ABOUT ME
My name is Jim Sector - I'm originally from Albany, NY and now am proud to call Cleveland, OH home. I'm a bit of a nerd, and still coming to terms with it. In my spare time, I try to fit in soccer, hiking, reading, 40k, and being a father to two wonderful, crazy children. I am committed to putting at least one Star Wars reference in every presentation.
CONSULTING
I consult with ambitious leaders who are willing to question the status quo and dream big about what's possible.
Whether that's on "conventional" problems or if we're looking to change the narrative, I can help put learnings from the "Lab" and my experience into action.
Together, we can...
-
Open new doors into our artforms and grow audiences.
-
Re-examine how we relate to our communities.
-
Develop new product lines to sustain our businesses.
